You can delete your Dowzr account and the data tied to it at any time, from the app or by email. You do not need the app installed to ask by email.
Delete from the app
- Open Dowzr on your phone, or the browser version at dowzr.app/walk, and sign in.
- Open the menu (the settings drawer).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm. Deletion starts immediately and cannot be undone.
Delete by email
Email info@dowzr.app from the address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my Dowzr account". We confirm the request comes from the account's owner, then delete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in identity (your Dowzr account)
- Your profile, settings and home city
- Your walks: sessions, routes, trips, walk history and app events
- Your feedback, ratings, city requests and city wishes
- Your waitlist sign-up, if you made one with the same email
- The travel preference profile Dowzr shares with the Ayten app, where you allowed sharing
What is kept, and for how long
- A deletion record: your account's internal identifier and the date it was deleted, kept indefinitely so that our analytics never count you again and so we can show the deletion was done. It contains no name, email or location.
- Server logs: kept for up to 90 days for debugging and abuse prevention, then deleted. Coordinates in them are reduced to about 100 metres.
- Backups: database point-in-time backups roll off within 35 days.
- Aggregate statistics that no longer identify anyone may be kept.
